A guide for becoming an Einherjar! (Part 1/4)

Hi there! If you are reading this, your most important mission is to protect Yggrdasil and give the tribe as a whole, the best chances of survival. Come Hel and Ragnarok, together we will stand! As an Einherjar, we have one warcry, a shout of celebration and general greeting. This is something you must learn by heart, “For The Tribe!”, simple but effective!

Before your first game

I am sure you are eager to get down to business and hunt some goblins, slay some giants and most importantly - pet your pets! But before that, you should probably start out with a tutorial, we all gotta start somewhere and we only get better through experience!

Tutorial and starting out

Play through the Tutorial and come back here when that is done, consider it your first challenge, the first part of your long journey - your own personal Saga if you will!

Done with the Tutorial? Good, I am sorry if it didn’t teach you all too much yet, but that is the base-line where we all start at, and now we will put your knowledge to good use.

If you want to hop right into the adventure mode, go to the “Saga mode” tab in the main menu of the game and press new game - I would personally recommend playing either alone or with a group of 4. Playing alone will be challenging, but you will learn, adapt and overcome a lot quicker than if some experienced Einherjar carried you to victory forever. You can also play a game with strangers/random people, there’s a good chance that you’ll win your first game, but if you don’t know what is going on, you won’t learn as much as if you were among people able to teach you.

Finding a group

There is no better way to find people to play with than through our community Discord - this is Valhalla but right here in Midgard! https://www.discord.gg/tribesofmidgard. (Find the Guide on How to use Matchmaking here)

You will be able to find, react to or create posts that are searching for players for specific goals, including the goal of learning how to play. There’s also the possibility of starting voice chats which makes conversation a lot easier because at least right now, our in-game chat system is still undergoing improvements … we are sadly still using ravens as messengers, and while they have been a trusted companion for centuries across all realms, they just can’t keep up with everything that needs to be said within a game!

Once you have found a group and are getting ready to play, go for it, see how it goes and see what you learn, if anything is confusing, ask questions - that’s what we are here for! (We also have channels in the Discord where you can ask questions that’ll be answered by our wonderful helpers!)

Would you rather want to run alone? I hear you, there’s no better way of experiencing the difficulty and challenge of a game than to do it on your own, prove to yourself that you can indeed overcome this challenge.
