The Sundial (World Clock) in Tribes of Midgard Explained
The Sundial is located in the top right corner of each game mode (both Saga and Survival). At its very basic, it’s a way to tell how much time has passed in game. However, there’s a lot more to it!
This sundial has some differences depending on which Mode you’re playing. Let’s get into it.
The Sundial in Saga Mode
The sundial in Saga Mode is going to be your best friend, since in Saga Mode, time is of the essence. This is because at Day 14, the World devolves into Fimbulwinter (the Endless Night) - meaning, your Village will be constantly attacked by Helthings without stopping. So, your goal is to kill those Giants and Ancients and exit via the Bifrost before that happens!
Here’s a quick recap of what you should know:
- Day Length: 10 minutes
- Seasons: See Fimbulwinter below
- Fimbulwinter/Endless Winter: Begins on Day 14 and continues endlessly
- Blood Moon: Appears every 4th night
The Sundial in Survival Mode
In Survival Mode, things take a step back and are much more relaxed. You can take your time to build, create your dream Viking home, go fishing, take on Ancients at-will, or take some time to pet your pet!
Here’s a quick recap of what you should know:
- Day Length: 20 minutes
- Seasons: 15 Days of Summer, then 15 Days of Winter
- There is no Fimbulwinter/Endless Winter
- There is no Blood Moon
