How to get to the Volcanic Spire Biome (and Surtr's Lair) in Tribes of Midgard​

This guide will cover how to find and activate Surtr’s Gateway, in order to access the Volcanic Spire Biome in Tribes of Midgard.

What is the Volcanic Spire?​

The Volcanic Spire is, namely, the hot and spicy volcano biome in Tribes of Midgard. Surtr, the Ancient, can be located here. The Volcanic Spire is only accessible via the Gateway.

Who is Surtr?​

Let’s start with another important question - who IS Surtr? Surtr is one of three Ancient in Tribes of Midgard, alongside Fenrir and Jormungandr.

First step: Accepting the Saga Quest​

Before heading out, you’ll want to pick up the Surtr Saga Quest at the Sanctuary (located just north of the Village). This ensures that you keep track of the Quest progress and can turn in the Quest for Golden Horns.

Next: How to find the Gateway?​

In order to find the Gateway (which is the passage needed to access the Volcanic Spire Biome) - you’ll need to first locate it in the Glacier Peaks biome in Midgard. The best way to do this is to split up (if you’re in a group) and take different paths. Paths will give you a speed boost as you run along them, so it’s the quickest way to get around.

You might also need some cold-resistant equipment in order to make the run.

What is needed to open Surtr’s Gateway?​

In order to activate the Gateway and access the Volcanic Spire biome, you’ll need the following materials:

• 50 Event Fragments: You can get Event Fragments in Tribes of Midgard by completing the random events that spawn on the map.

• 20 Ancient Cores: You can get Ancient Cores by slaying certain enemies like Werewolves, Witches, Sirelings, and Linnorms.
• 10 Muspelite: To get Muspelite in Tribes of Midgard, you must raid Outposts that you can find spread across multiple biomes.
• 3k Souls: You can easily farm Souls by clearing camps, outposts, and looting chests.

Where to find Muspelite and Outpost Camps in Tribes of Midgard​

As mentioned above, you’ll need Muspelite from the Chests in Outposts in order to deposit to the Gateway. Muspelite looks as such:

Outposts Camps are spread across all biomes, and at them, you’ll encounter various Volcanic enemies such as Brennálfar Elves and Lavættir. Outposts can be identified by their volcano icons on the map:

Once you’ve collected all the Materials needed above, that’s it! Deposit them to reactivate the Gateway, and make your way to the next stage of the Saga Quest. The Gateway should look like this when activated:

What happens if you open the Gate but once your character goes through it, they become stuck in the platform? Since this is part of the main quest, I am stuck and can't move on
